A persistent leak in the ceiling cavity above an operating room (OR2) at a hospital caused significant water damage,
leading to elevated moisture levels in the drywall and ceiling. Water overflowed from existing catch containers,
exacerbating the damage and necessitating immediate assessment and remediation due to ongoing active roof leakage.
Alpha Omega Restoration Pros mobilized technicians (JM, AG, AJ) to the site. Initial steps included hauling and
wiping down equipment, assisting facilities with containment setup using 2 bulldogs for negative air pressure,
perforating paint, and cutting drywall for cavity pressurization. Drying equipment, including 2 Saharas and 2
Firebirds with 30ft lay flat, was deployed. Technicians also attempted to redirect active roof leakage. After
identifying elevated moisture readings (999 WET on a SurveyMaster), a plan for targeted removal of approximately 50
sq ft of affected sheet rock was initiated. The team conducted demolition, which involved staging equipment, plastic
sheeting for floor protection, chalking and cutting a 4ftx4ft ceiling section, Hepa vacuuming, wiping down, and
covering surgical arms. Equipment was later picked up, leaving AFD's and a ladder for reconstruction.
