The customer contacted the company for restoration work after water damage impacted both the shop and sewing room. The damage affected the carpet, drywall, and various contents, including a 14 ft sewing machine. Prolonged moisture exposure led to saturation of materials, increasing the risk of deterioration and contamination, requiring thorough drying, cleaning, and potential restoration.
All affected content was removed from the impacted areas and temporarily placed outside. The shop area underwent a thorough rinse and extraction, which included shoveling loose and piled debris. After initial cleanup, contents were returned to the shop, and air movement along with dehumidification equipment was set up to dry the area. The large 14 ft sewing machine and associated content were discussed with the customer, Betty, leading to the engagement of a specialized company in Laurel for dismantling and packing out the machine. Additionally, a 12x20 container was ordered for temporary storage of non-affected content.
