The customer contacted us to address a hidden, intermittent water leak originating from an upper drain line within a wall cavity, which had heavily contaminated a basement bathroom, adjacent stair landing, and closet space.
To address the damage, our restoration team carried out advanced diagnostic moisture mapping using specialized digital meters along the affected bathroom tile trim and wall panels to accurately track the path of the hidden drain leak. We then pulled back the adjacent carpeting to expose the saturated subflooring, reveal microbial staining, and inspect the structural carpet tack strips running along the perimeter of the drywall. The team meticulously documented the rotting wood base framing, wet paneling, and active mold colonization caused by the contaminated water to compile a precise structural mitigation estimate for the homeowner.
