The customer contacted us following an accidental kitchen island fire triggered by a discarded cheesecloth that tragically reignited inside a garbage cabinet drawer. The electrical or chemical fire generated medium soot residue across the main and upper levels of the residence, left light soot deposits in the basement utility spaces, and caused severe localized charring to the custom cabinetry.
Our restoration team immediately arrived on-site to assess the cross-contamination, map the fire boundaries, and document the structural damage. Technicians safely extracted the burned kitchen drawer elements and debris, inspected the scorched dishwasher housing, and isolated the contaminated cabinet cavities using secure containment plastics and tape. We evaluated the swollen, multi-layered hardwood flooring to map moisture boundaries, staged the surrounding kitchen contents, and formulated a comprehensive structural mitigation blueprint. Finally, we deployed an industrial HEPA air scrubber equipped with heavy-duty carbon filtration to actively clear airborne particulates, eliminate fine soot film, and neutralize smoke odors across the living areas.
