The customer, facilitated by a realtor during a real estate transaction, needed an assessment of a crawlspace experiencing high humidity and elevated moisture levels in the wood framing. This issue was caused by ground moisture intrusion, an incomplete vapor barrier, and a lack of proper ventilation, leading to suspected mold growth on the soil and rim joists.
We conducted a comprehensive crawlspace inspection using professional moisture meters to document the elevated humidity and structural moisture. We provided expert consultation, recommending the involvement of an environmental hygienist for pre-testing to establish a precise scope of work. Additionally, we discussed future remediation options and advised immediate dehumidification to stabilize the environment and prevent further damage.
