The customer requested an inspection for mold and water damage across their laundry room, basement bedroom, and upstairs bathroom. Investigations identified significant issues, including a Category 3 water leak originating from the upstairs toilet, which has saturated the ceiling below and caused structural damage, alongside active mold growth found behind baseboards in the laundry room and an adjacent bedroom wall.
We developed a remediation plan to address both the microbial growth and the active leak. Our approach involves performing two-foot cuts in the basement drywall surrounding the plumbing access to provide full clearance for mold treatment and interior wall repair. We will also remove the water-damaged ceiling drywall, likely requiring the detachment of light fixtures, to gain clear access to the leak source. This will allow us to assess whether a full removal of the upstairs toilet and bathroom flooring is required to permanently resolve the plumbing failure and restore the structure safely.
