The customer experienced a fire loss originating in their bakery, which triggered secondary Category 3 water migration throughout the commercial basement area. The widespread water intrusion began re-saturating previously dry zones, including structural areas near the kitchen hallway entrance and the end of the hall by the stairs.
The team took initial hydrostatic readings upon arrival and systematically mapped structural moisture, moving stored bakery items and commercial contents to trace the moving water accurately. Technicians captured complete DocuSketch 3D scans of the entire layout and processed the insurance macros for a Category 3 water restoration project. To mitigate biological hazards and smoke odours, crews bagged and discarded melted, non-salvageable materials from the source room. Finally, the team pulled out all drying equipment to thoroughly extract standing water, followed by rinsing and mechanical scrubbing of the affected basement floors.
