The customer contacted us after an exterior hose bib located between two recessed windows failed, causing water to intrude through the windows and flood the basement. The water intrusion impacted multiple basement spaces, including the game room, bedroom, family room, bathroom, and stairway.
Our team began by conducting comprehensive moisture mapping across all affected basement areas, identifying that roughly 75% to 80% of the bedroom ceiling was saturated, with water actively draining through the ceiling vent and light fixture. To mitigate immediate damage, we detached the glass surround from the light fixture to safely drain trapped water. We then extracted standing water from the carpet using a portable extractor and treated the carpeted surfaces with Mil-Go anti-microbial spray to prevent mold growth. To stabilize the environment and thoroughly dry the structure, we installed heavy-duty dehumidifiers, high-velocity air movers, and specialized hydroxyl equipment. Note that baseboard removal shown in the documentation was completed prior to our arrival during previous restoration efforts, as this marks the third flooding event in this basement.
