A basement experienced Category 2 water damage after a window well overflowed with stormwater, allowing rainwater to enter. The living room, hallway, bedroom, and closet were affected, with elevated moisture detected in sill plates and the shared wall between the living room and bedroom.
The restoration team installed a comprehensive drying system, including five low-profile air movers and one LGR dehumidifier in the living room, and three low-profile air movers in the bedroom. No water extraction was required as sheetrock moisture levels were acceptable. Follow-up monitoring was conducted, and equipment was adjusted by removing four air movers from sufficiently dried areas. A Firebird drying system was strategically placed along the shared wall to target remaining elevated moisture, with continued monitoring planned to ensure all affected materials reach acceptable drying levels.
