The customer required professional assistance to resolve active water damage and limited microbial growth affecting a bedroom, subfloor, drywall, ceiling, and surrounding areas such as the kitchen.
The restoration team set up a 6-mil plastic drying chamber and operated an air filtration device to contain dust during demolition. They removed floating laminate flooring to expose the wet subfloor, as well as water-damaged drywall from floor to ceiling along the shared interior and exterior walls. Additionally, a section of ceiling affected by microbial growth was removed, and the ceiling cavity was sealed with plastic. Exposed sill plates, framing, and floors were HEPA vacuumed and treated with IAQ antimicrobial solution through brushing and wiping. To dry the remaining structure, the team set up three AirMax air movers, one Sahara air mover, and a dehumidifier. During routine monitoring, they corrected a pinched hose error on the XL dehumidifier to resume proper operation. As most materials dried to acceptable levels, the team repositioned drying equipment to address two remaining elevated moisture points in the kitchen, maintained target air movement, removed containment barriers after demolition, and updated both the client and insurance adjuster.
